My new best friend!

"I am so happy I discovered PUBLIC. Several weeks ago I was at the local farmers' market and saw a woman arriving on a beautiful classic bicycle. So, of course, I had to ask her. When I got home, I immediately went on line and ordered a PUBLIC V1 in ocean blue -- I live i California, how could I not choose this color -- and a rack for the back, a pouch for the front, and, yes, an old-school bell. What made this purchase particularly appealing is that I could have the bicycle shipped to a local bike shop, which I did. When I received the text that my bicycle had arrived, I took the first opportunity to head to the shop, fully expecting to receive a bike in a box. Oh, no, the shop had fully assembled the bicycle, including mounting the rack, attaching the pouch, and adding the bell. A relationship with a bicycle is different than a relationship with other things. Your bicycle is your friend. I have yet to figure out what my bicycle's name is -- he has one, I just have to figure it out. Just like a dog, he has a name and you just need to figure out what it is. I have received countless compliments on my bicycle, from friends and colleagues -- I now commute to work on my bicycle. When I figure out his name, I'll circle bakc and edit this review."

Outstanding

"Wowie! Ultra Cool and it's a tank! Hey that's a compliment meaning solid, well built & way too sexy. Hun? A bike sexy? How's that possible? It's about the how I feel when riding downtown for coffee. The rims are painted to match the bike... Dog backpack and goggles are in my future so I can share the experience with Milo. Oh yeah, the touch up paint knocked me out! Thanks!"

All around a great townie!

"Ordering and delivery went smooth. Easy to put together, rides very well, and looks fantastic! Brooks saddle and bar tape really dappered it up."

Summer cruisin’

"Love my bike!!!! I was iffy on the color, but I’m glad I ordered it anyway, I ride around and love that I ordered the basket to put stuff in, so that I don’t get sweaty."

Gerri Y. (5/5)

A great platform to customize.

"Overall very happy with the bike. I did almost immediately switch out handlebars for more and saddle. Saddle and grips were pretty cheap. Switched out the rear sprocket to get higher cruising speeds. It came geared similarly to a beach cruiser. Made it my own and now I'm in love with it."

"I ordered this bike"Ready to Ride". I recommend this because all you have to do is put on the seat, handlebars, and pedals. Such a smooth riding bike and easy to go up hills. This is a well built bike that rides well on the street, sidewalk and bike trails at the Metro Park. "I am truly grateful for this company & this bike!! I opted for the assembled option and aside from adjusting the stem tubes and tightening everything, it was great! All the wrenches came included and the instructions were easy to use. I can't praise this company enough! The V1 is both extremely smooth and beautiful!! Thank you so much!!!"

Q&A

What is the frame made from? How much does the bike weigh? What size are the wheels?
Hey Sean, The C7 is made from steel and weighs about 32 pounds. It has "700c" wheels and the recommended tire size is 700x35c. Thanks!
Does it come with a kick stand?
Thanks for reaching out to PUBLIC. Yes, all of our steel bikes come standard with a kickstand and fenders, and most with a chain guard as well.
I'm 5'7.5" what size would you recommend?
Hello Matt, Riders on the cusp would likely feel comfortable on either size while seated on the bike, but your inseam measurement would really determine whether you would size up or down with this particular model. If you don’t know this measurement off hand, please follow the simple steps below to achieve this measurement. 1. Stand with your back against a wall and spread your feet 6-8" apart. 2. Place a book between your legs and up against the wall, spine up; raise it until snug against your crotch (this mimics your bike seat). 3. Have another person measure from the top of the book (spine) down to the floor. If you find that this measurement is over ~ 32 inches, we would recommend sizing up to the M/L size. Anything smaller and we would recommend sizing down to the S/M. Best, The PUBLIC Team
What’s all included in my purchase of this bike?
Hello Linsely. If you're looking to get accessories such as a rack or bell, these items will need to be purchased in addition to the bike. The bike comes as it appears in the studio photography. Hope this helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any additional questions. Best, The PUBLIC Team
Can you customize these bikes if I buy 25 of them? Ie, Id like to create a custom name of the model on the cross bar and add peoples names on the forks?
